A free webinar set to address Practice Efficiency for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland is set to run in May 2025

Healthcare leaders from Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland are invited to tackle one of primary care's most pressing challenges in an upcoming webinar titled "Understanding Your Practice's Signposting Variation: Why It Matters."
With nearly one million primary care appointments taking place daily across the UK, and studies suggesting that up to 20% of GP appointments could be better managed by other healthcare professionals, effective signposting has never been more crucial for practice efficiency and patient care.
The webinar will take place on 15 May 2025 from 1-2pm. Free registration is now open at https://streamyard.com/watch/6FmaGRWih7Zb
The webinar will feature an expert panel including Darren Jones, Strategic Advisor for the NHS (Chair), Dr Kiran Mandhyan of the Holbrooks Health Team, and Simon Bricknell, Healthcare Improvement Expert.
The panel will explore the significant impact of inconsistent patient direction and how practices can identify and address these variations.
Inconsistent signposting doesn't just create inefficiency—it fundamentally affects GP capacity, patient experience, and waiting times for urgent care. Most practices are unaware of just how much variation exists in their team's approach to directing patients.
The webinar will showcase the Appropriate Appointments Online (AAOL) simulation tool, which helps practices uncover and understand variations in how teams direct patients.
Through engaging simulations, staff review realistic patient scenarios and make decisions about who should see each patient, appointment urgency, and appropriate service alternatives.
When practices identify their own signposting variations, they can make targeted improvements that significantly reduce inappropriate GP appointments and improve patient access. This webinar has been specifically designed to address the unique healthcare structures and challenges faced by practices in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
The session will be particularly valuable for Practice Managers, GP Partners, Reception Team Leaders, Care Navigators, and anyone involved in patient signposting and appointment scheduling within these regions.
